Frostwing
[Note – title character is a gargoyle] is the most interesting
character.
Teresa [Note-
the love interest] is too cliché and one dimensional. First, she doesn’t like any 24 year old. She acts more like a woman in her forties,
making her such a high ranking agent doesn’t make any sense as would only have
three years experience. She accepts too
readily, and the she function simply as support for the male characters.
Giorgi
says he feels guilty about controlling people yet he does it without a second
thought. And if he is Methdas to a
degree then isn’t his relationship with Teresa just as incestuous as the one
she would hade with Frankl/Metdas? But
the coloring there only for the relationships with the “evil” Methdas as
opposed to Giorgi.

A Clash of Kings by George R. R. Martin
Arya seems very bloodthirsty. She things nothing of killing a former comrade. She seems too much of a traditional stock
character. The typical girl, royal,
disguising herself as a boy. In fact,
the character of Genedry is the stock bastard in hiding or at least it seems
that way. Both are used too much in
fantasy novels. The character of Sansa
and Lady Cathryn are far more interesting because they are less stock characters,
more unusual. Esp. Sansa whose type is
usually not well rounded at all. Her situation
is far worse and more dangerous than Arya’s . Sansa must learn to live with
danger around her. There is no one she
an really trust. Even Ser Dantos is
either crazy or lusts after all. How far
can she really trust him? The Hound, I
think , is attracted to her but she most surely cannot trust him.
Why do
both girls lose their wolves? With Sansa
it might make some sense to enable the whole court sequence, especially the
abuse. But still, with Arya- she is the
stock character so reuniting her with her wolf would not be that big of a
surprise.
Wish it
had more of Robb. Looks like the eldest
is going to get slighted and killed
again. Hate that, so stupid and happens far
too often. The eldest are never
considered important or interesting.
Brienne
is a good character, if somewhat predictable.
But interesting combination of her and Catelyn. Would what is going to happed to the
Kingslayer. Like the development of Typerion
even if one feels like you don’t know him.
Reminds me of the Hound in some ways.
That some time of mystery. Yet he is an extremely intelligent character. And
shows the ties of blood.
Cerisi
-Circe
Joffrey
reminds me of Caligula
Why must
Jon have Ghost and the girls no wolves?
