Self-published Authors Appreciation Week - Romance

There are  a tremendous amount of self published books out there.  This week The Fish Shelf, along with other bloggers, is highlighting self published authors and indie publishers that could use a bit more recognition.

Today we are focusing on romance.

Amanda Dykes’ Bespoke  is a sweet Christmas romance.  It is a nice pleasant read.

Joanna Chambers’ Enlightenment  series is a LGBT romance series.

Caroline Lee’s Everland Ever After series takes fairy tales and places them in a Western setting.

Simone Lee’s Red as Blood is a good romantic retelling of Red Riding Hood.

Heather Horrocks’ Bah Humbug is   a sweet and funny romance.

Caroline Warfield offers a free introduction to her Dangerous series with the novella, A Dangerous Nativity.   Clean, sweet romance.

Once Upon a Kiss is a collection of fairy tale inspired romance short stories by indie authors.  Each has a fairy tale or mythological theme.  There are some excellent stories in the collection.

Rosetta Bloom gives a hot and spicy retelling of the Princess and the Pea in her The Princess, the Pea, and the Night of Passion.

Jenna Jaxon’s  Hog Wild stands out from the run of the mill erotica fairy tale retellings.

Lisa Scott’s Fairy Tale Flirts is a nice collection of romance themed fairy tales.

If you remember that time when an author tried to copyright the word “cocky”, you might want to check out Fettucine Holliday’s  works.

Myth and Magic: Queer Fairy Tales was published by the small/indie press Bold Strokes Books.  The collection is fairy tale retelling with a queer twist.  They are usually romance theme.  The collection contains one of the best retellings of “The Snow Queen” I have ever read.

Jessica Lee’s All She Wants 4 Christmas is one of those erotica short stories that actually makes good use of consent.

Meg Cabot’s Jingle My Bells is a fun read about an elf.

And of course, Scarlett Parrish’s various novels are fun reads.
